HEALING THROUGH ART & COMMUNITY
We use dynamic art-based methods to engage in meaningful activism and build relationship over conflict.
We produce intensive workshops, public demonstrations, performances, critical dialogue, experiential events and retreats. Incorporating art and healing justice to strengthen relationships and drive transformative change.
CREATIVE ACTION
We facilitate education on decolonization and white supremacy culture in academia for the Community Health Equity Fellowship (CHEF). We also collaborate on community health initiatives and serve on their organizing committee to create space and learning for junior scholars committed to advancing health equity in their communities.

"To forget how to dig the earth and to tend the soil is to forget ourselves." - Mohandas K. Gandhi
Colonization deprives certain people of vital nutrition and food heritage. We are empowering people with nutrition awareness and reconnecting with healthy, culturally-relevant foods. When we decolonize our food, we decolonize ourselves. We do this through:
Accessible Cultivation: From traditional farming to urban community gardens to home-made hydroponics, we are helping people acquire the tools to build healthy, delicious food in any environment, at little to no cost, season after season
Foraging & Wild Sourcing: We provide hands-on education and experience in the sourcing and preparation of wild foods and medicines.
FOOD JUSTICE
The weakening of our traditional relationships with nature is a devastating effect of colonization. We believe in the broad potential of nature to heal and empower all people. We provide hands-on education and experience in the foraging/sourcing and preparation of wild foods and medicines.
By bringing people into the wilderness and teaching safety, sustainability, and independence in nature, we are working to reclaim and restore our relationship with nature. Trailheads focuses on:
Healing: as we build community, healthy relationships, functional skills, feelings of safety, self-sustenance, self-regulation, resilience, and other facets of biopsychosocial wellbeing through fostering a positive symbiotic relationship with nature.
Learning: as we engage students in functional, hands-on, nature-based STEM education including outdoor engineering, mechanical engineering, botany, mycology, ecological homeostasis and biodiversity, and wilderness medicine.
